Тут случилось интересное и весьма лестное.
Человек (а именно, tel, чей кроссовер Форкосиганов с Хонорверс я переводила только недавно) по собственному почину решил перевести на английский мой фик, и не что-нибудь, а "Собственник".
Большой труд закончен. Результаты можно посмотреть в ЖЖ, dreamwidth и Archive of Our Own. Посмотрим, КАК отреагирует американский фэндом на НЦ по моей любимой паре персонажей

There's a wonderful tone to this, a sort of impressive chilliness, that works really well. I wonder if it's because the original was in another language?

Simon may be, er, more than slightly brainwashed, but I don't think he's unhappy with how this turned out...*g*
One of the reasons I attempted the translation of this is that it's an interesting fic and the sort of fic it'd be very unusual to find on the English-speaking side of Vorkosigan fandom. This is technically the crack AU to a somewhat more sedate Ezar/Illyan fic series.
A surprisingly high proportion of Vorkosigan slash on the net exists only in Russian.

Ah, the final version! This is great fun. I love the contrast between the appalling tension at the start and the more settled atmosphere at the end.

This is great and surprisingly sexy given that I never would have thought of Ezar in that way. I love Simon's point of view in this; so young and more than a touch naive, not stupid though. The conversation between Ezar and Negri was a hoot.

Just read a perfect Powerfic story set in Lois McMaster Bujold's Vorkosigan universe. This is set pre-series. Lt. Simon Illyan is personal secretary to the Emperor and is always on call. The Emperor interrupts Simon at a crucial moment and then takes an interest when his secretary shows up looking rather debauched. Simon would not dream of saying no to his Emperor. Some coercion but not non-consensual. Simon here is very young seeming, though judging by his rank is most likely in his mid-20s. Thorougly enjoyed this and recommend it even if you haven't read the books.

Oh that was fantastic. Your stuff is always good but this had me absolutely hooked. I love the interplay between the characters, and the atmosphere is amazing - you can almost taste the tension there. Thank you so much for this brilliant piece

Впрочем, радует, что хоть претензии не начинают предъявлять, как англоязычный гп-фандом (типа, вдруг вы нас не так переводите, не смейте больше). )))

05.06.2010 в 11:47и фэндом американский у нас на диво вменяемый - никто и никогда не имеет претензий к переводам, и никого даже не надо уведомлять и просить разрешения заранее.
Вменяемость, похоже, интернациональная характерная черта этого фэндома.
